How would you feel if you had to rush your 1-1/2 year old child to the emergency room because she is having trouble breathing and her entire body is covered in a rash?  Imagine knowing your daughter is having a severe allergic reaction and having no idea why.

My husband and I know because this is how we found out our daughter Sarah has a severe peanut allergy.

Once our daughter Sarah was stabilized, the doctors tried to identify the cause of her illness.  During our discussions   I explained I had given my older son a peanut butter snack after school but that Sarah had not had any of it.  After further conversation and several tests, we were shocked to hear the diagnosis was a severe peanut allergy!  Sarah did not need to ingest the peanut butter to have a dangerous reaction: only be near it.  Our whole world changed.
